On salary increase, it was agreed that there will be a 7% salary increment across the board for employees in the bargaining unit for the financial year 2023/24. Furthermore, employees will receive a housing allowance of R 3500. Equally, parties have agreed on areas of conditions of service for workers such as Long Service Leave, Family Responsibility. It was further agreed that other items will been deferred to plant level and shall be concluded within three months of signing the agreement.
Lastly, the national union applauds the work done by the negotiating team in defending collective bargaining. Indeed, the union will continue to champion the interests of workers at all material times in order to improve their overall quality of life and working conditions. Our members and workers must know that they have a fighting union on their side. We will continue to wage a relentless war to protect workers’ interests and defend collective bargaining at all costs.
