Capricorn FM News reports that members of the National, Education, Health and Allied Workers Union’s Mike Tauyatswala region have staged a protest outside the headquarters of the provincial department of Health in Polokwane, demanding that suspensions of their shop stewards at the Pietersburg hospital be lifted.
NEHAWU’s regional secretary Matome Phooko says seven shop stewards were unlawfully suspended last week for engaging hospital management about an article that was issued by an anonymous person, alleging rigging of posts by the hospital CEO.
Phooko says the article which contains names of executive members, alleges that there is serious corruption and maladministration happening in the hospital and these must be investigated.
