The South African Transport and Allied Workers Union in Limpopo says bus company Great North Transport remains disinterested to engage with the union on issues of pension benefits for current and former GNT employees. GNT has since denied allegations that it has defaulted on its commitment to finalise the Pension Fund Liquidation process and pay all outstanding benefits to deserving beneficiaries.
Speaking on Capricorn Talk last night, SATAWU Limpopo secretary Paul Nephawe said even those claiming for benefits related to the provifent fund are not being paid according to proper standards. He says a meeting with GNT has been set for 22nd May and should the company not honour the meeting, the union will have no choice but to mobilise its members and embark on a march.
