Some Polokwane EPWP workers paid half salaries

Capricorn FM reports that some of the EPWP workers working for Polokwane Local Municipality say they have not been paid their salaries in full and do not know when they will get paid. The workers told Capricorn FM News that they were supposed to get their salaries on the 15th of January, with some receiving half of it while others didn’t receive anything, and others receiving full pay.

One of the workers, who spoke anonymously, says she does not know why they were not paid in full because they never missed a day of work. She says in December they received their payments in full and are surprised why it was not the same case this month. Polokwane municipality spokesperson Matshidiso Mothapo says the municipality held engagements with a delegation of workers on Monday afternoon and they reached an agreement on how the workers will be paid.
